Surfers Against Sewage is our charity of the year, and on Wednesday 16th December, the CHX team will virtually cycle the length of the North Cornwall coastline in a single day to raise money for them.
The route runs 145 miles, from Land’s End to the Devon border at Marsland Mouth, passing St Ives, Newquay, Padstow, Tintagel and Bude along the way. Rather than braving the Cornish hills in December, we will be riding in relay on an indoor bike at our factory in Bodmin, with staff taking turns from 8:30am until the full distance is complete. Most of the team are not cyclists, so every mile will be hard earned.
Why Surfers Against Sewage
As a Cornish manufacturer making branded merchandise exclusively from recycled and recycled biodegradable plastics, protecting our oceans and beaches matters to us. Surfers Against Sewage campaigns to protect the coastline on our doorstep, so it was an easy choice for our charity of the year.
Double the difference
CHX Products will match what our team raises, up to £1,000, so every donation goes twice as far. If you would like to support a particular rider, add their name in your donation message. UK taxpayers can also tick Gift Aid when donating, which adds 25% at no extra cost.
Support through your orders
You can also support Surfers Against Sewage by choosing products from our Traceable Marine Plastic range. We donate 5% of profits from every Traceable Marine Plastic product sold to the charity.
The material is recovered from UK waters and coastal areas, including end-of-life fishing nets collected by Water Haul, then manufactured at our solar-powered Cornwall facility. It gives your customers branded merchandise with a genuine ocean conservation story to share. Find out more about the Traceable Marine Plastic process.
Follow the ride
We will be sharing progress throughout the day on our social channels, marking each milestone as we head up the coast.
